Lessons are given on my Steinway Model S, built in 2005. More than 98% of concert pianists choose to perform on Steinway pianos because of their quality, craftsmanship, and sound. I highly recommend the documentary, Note By Note, where you’re through the process of building a Steinway Model D, starting in the forest and ending on the concert stage.

Opportunities offered to all pre-college students through my professional affiliations:

  1. Gold Cup Trophy Event of the National Federation of Music Clubs

  2. Local Piano Festivals throughout the year

  3. FOUR recitals through the school year

  4. Two community repertoire classes a year for performance experience

Academic Year Schedule:

Formally scheduled piano lessons are taught beginning the first week of September and ending the last week of May 2025. Tuition pays for 36 private lessons during the academic year (and associated performances).  The schedule follows a one-week Thanksgiving break, two-week Christmas break, and a one-week April school break when lessons will not normally be scheduled.  Please check the calendar I will provide you for other changes during the year.

It is the responsibility of the student/parents to take advantage of the 36 lesson dates.  I do provide several make-up lesson dates scheduled throughout the year for students who have had absences.  Make-up lessons are scheduled on a first come first serve basis.

I can not guarantee that each of a student’s missed lessons can be made-up.

With moderate commitment and cooperation from the student’s family, a fully successful course can be completed by June even with several absences.

Also included throughout the year are performance classes prior to auditions (examinations), competitions, or recitals.  These classes are an essential part of gaining performance confidence and trying-out new repertoire.

Total tuition for the academic year is divided into NINE equal, monthly payments.

  • (South End) 30 Minute = $150/month

  • (South End) 45 Minute = $180/month

  • (Travel Lesson*) 30 Minute = $230/month

  • (Travel Lesson*) 45 Minute = $260/month

*Travel Lessons must be within 9 miles of the South End Studio.

Piano Lessons are given in the South End neighborhood of Charlotte, NC.
